Scientific Description
Mission and objectives
The Helmholtz Nano Facility (HNF) at Forschungszentrum Jülich forms the central technological platform for nanostructures with an emphasis on “green microchips/computing” in the Helmholtz Association. It comprises a network of facilities, processes and systems for research, production and characterisation of nano and atomic structures for information technology with high strategic importance. The HNF facilitates broad access to these technologies for universities, research institutions, industry and the direct transfer of knowledge to society.

The task of Helmholtz Nanoelectronic Facility is rapid progress in nanoelectronics and their technology offering efficient access to infrastructure. HNF gives access to expertise and provides resources in production, synthesis, characterization and integration of structures, devices and circuits.

Process Equipment for Si-, III/V, biohybrids, oxides, mask making, epitaxy

The HNF provides process equipment for processing research structures for single substrates from 0,5 mm2 up to 8" wafers in the above fields.
