BWW provides an overall search over several databases that are relevant for educational information. For literature resources, if a full text is available, BWW will provide information on where to find it and whether access is free and open or subject to restrictions.
If a user cannot locate the desired information, our BWW's services will try to provide the user with the needed information.
BWW's topic categories, regional categories and web-dossiers offer well-structured information on educational issues. Additionally, the web-resources BWW links to are provided with keywords, abstracts, classification and other metadata.
In addition to the Metasearch, a user can also search through each database separately. The advantage of searching directly in a specific database usually is that one has more sophisticated options for search.

In contrast to searching, browsing provides a user with categories that can be "leafed through" when a user does not know yet what exactly they are looking for. Sometimes this way of looking for information can provide one with ideas and resources one had not thought of previously.
