Mission and objectives
Statement from the Director of Research: The Institute of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science is developing world-leading academic research in all three areas, with a strong emphasis on research which also has a direct impact in real life application areas. The Computer Science Department has 5 main areas of research: 1) Advanced Reasoning co-ordinated by Dr Thomas Jansen; 2) Bio-Informatics co-ordinated by Dr Amanda Clare; 3) Vision, Graphics and Visualisation co-ordinated by Professor Reyer Zwiggelaar; 4) The EXoMars PAT Lab co-ordinated by Dr Laurence Tyler; and Intelligent Robotics co-ordinated by Dr Mark Neal.
