Scientific Description
The Leibniz Institute for Crystal Growth is a unique research institution in Europe. Its mission is to explore the scientific and technological fundamentals of crystal growth, from basic research to pre-industrial development. IKZ considers materials to be of fundamental importance for modern applications in micro-, opto- and power electronics, in photovoltaics, in optics, as well as in laser and sensor technology. All these applications require crystalline materials with high perfection and specific chemical and physical properties.
