EQ offers you the access to well-equipped scientific Core Facilities, provides optional scientific services and establishes strong collaborations with research partners from the Vienna Institute of Bio¬Technology. Therefore, additional benefits from the access to a cost-effective infrastructure and the on-site scientific expertise are achieved. In addition to provide technical assistance for the instrumentation, scientific services such as sample analysis, consultancy, planning applied research concepts or feasibility studies which are related to the equipment in the Core Facility can be carried out. Furthermore, EQ offers personalized user training for the available instrumentation.
Highly selective mass spectrometer for proteomics and glycoproteomics applications. The instrument will consist of a Dionex RSLC (rapid separation liquid chromatography) unit that can operate gradient elution of nano-columns with sub-2 μm particles in order to achieve short analysis times or highest chromatographic resolution. The detector is a Bruker Maxis 4G, which is among the most sensitive mass spectrometers on the market and the Q-TOF MS with the highest currently achievable resolution (60.000 FWHM) and mass accuracy (sub ppm). The instrument shall also be equipped with an ETD source allowing an alternative fragmentation technique e.g. for peptides with post-translational modifications.
The MoFlo Astrios is a high speed cell sorter with improved sensitivity. Equipped with five lasers the instrument can analyse up to 13 size and fluorescence parameters. Isolation of cells with defined properties for subsequent culture or further analysis is possible both in bulk and into microtiter plates and will allow in depth studies of cellular phenotypes. Biosafety aersol containment allows sterile sorting of up to six subpopulations for cell line development.
Highly sensitive mass spectrometer for quantitative analysis of small molecules; metabolomics. The Thermo Vantage triple quadrupole LC-MS/MS system consists of a 1000 bar Accela HPLC System for ultra-fast separations, electrospray or atmospheric pressure chemical ionization ion source options and a fast scanning MS/MS mass spectrometer with enhanced resolution.
