SILVAngs is a data analysis service for ribosomal RNA gene (rDNA) amplicon reads from high-throughput sequencing (next-generation sequencing (NGS)) approaches based on an automatic software pipeline. It uses the SILVA rDNA databases, taxonomies, and alignments as a reference. It facilitates the classification of rDNA reads and provides a wealth of results (tables, graphs and sequence files) for download.
Training courses for ARB and SILVA are regularly offered.
User support is offered by comprehensive documentation on the webpage as well as FAQs and mailing-lists, Twitter and direct e-mail contacts.
Access to an online resource for quality checked and aligned ribosomal RNA sequence data. Silva provides ribosomal RNA gene datasets for the domains Bacteria, Archaea and Eukarya. Preconfigured datasets can be downloaded from the website as Reference and Parc databases. Custom tailored datasets can be generated for download with extended search functions on the website. Services for the alignment and classification of rDNA sequences are offered as well as the evaluation of probes and primers. All datasets are quality checked and curated especially with respect to taxonomy. All sequence data are provided in the universal FASTA as well as the specific ARB format. The ARB software tool can be installed locally to allow extended manipulation of the SILVA databases.
Webserver and 20 node compute cluster.
