Scientific Description
Statement from the Director of Research: The Institute of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science is developing world-leading academic research in all three areas, with a strong emphasis on research which also has a direct impact in real life application areas. The Physics department has two main areas of Research: 1) Centre for Space and Earth Monitoring and Solar Physics co-ordinated by Professor Manuel Grande; and 2) Materials Research co-ordinated by Professor Andy Evans.
