Various characterization services: i) vibration and/or quasi-static noncontact high-precision measurements by means of vibrometric (3D; scanning-type), holographic, interferometric or capacitive techniques; MEMS vibrometry at elevated temperatures; ii) static and dynamic (fatigue-related) mechanical testing, scratch-based testing, ultrahigh-resolution nanoindentation testing at room and elevated temperatures of both hard and soft materials including biomaterials; iii) comprehensive rheometric and tribometric characterizations at elevated temperatures, piezoelectric, electric, magnetic field measurements, high-speed infrared imaging, digital capture of ultra-fast processes, optical surface topography scanning; iv) biomechatronics-related measurements such as 3D motion analysis, 3D body part scanning, musculoskeletal ultrasonic diagnostics, EMG/EEG acquisition, etc.; v) experimental studies and demonstrations related to industrial and humanoid robotics, human-robot interaction, automated assembly, etc. Consultations in the field of measurement methodology, automation of measurements, etc.
Simulation-assisted design of macro/micro/bio mechatronic system components including 3D solid modeling, multiphysics finite element analysis, explicit dynamic analysis of highly-nonlinear problems, computational biomechanical analysis, etc. Consultations in the field of simulation-assisted design of macro/micro/bio mechatronic systems, reverse engineering, etc.
Fabrication of mechanical prototypes and specimen preparation using subtractive (e.g. CNC machining, vibration-assisted cutting) and additive technologies such as 3D printing of polymer prototypes. Implementation and testing of electronic subsystems, their integration into mechanical components. Consultations in the field of conventional and rapid prototyping.
1. A set of Polytec laser Doppler vibrometers (LDV) for in-depth dynamic characterization of both macro- and micro-scale structures: 1.1 Full-field 3D scanning LDV system Polytec PSV-500-3D-HV for full modal analysis of mini & macro structures (up to 25 MHz). 1.2 Microscope-based optical testing system Polytec MSA-500-TPM for out-of-plane/in-plane vibration and topography measurements of MEMS components. Electrodynamic shaker with closed-loop vibration control B&K LDS V555 + PA1000L + Type 7542 for dynamic testing of various structures up to 25 kg (harmonic, random, shock excitation in a 20 Hz – 6.3 kHz range with acceleration up to 100g). 5.
